For the past four years the animals of the Temara Zoo near Rabat, have lived beside new development construction which has destroyed their habitat and caused much of the of the zoo's population to become sick or die.
The government sold the 50 hectares of the zoo's land to the development company with the promise that the animals would be moved to a new zoo (in a "protected" forest...). However, the buildings are finished and the animals still live in the reduced habitat.
